What fresh flowers are safe to put on a wedding cake?
The standard wedding flowers (roses, hydrangeas etc.) are okay to put on cakes -- just make sure the flower stems will be thoroughly washed before hand.
Reply:Roses. They even make candy from roses.

I love that idea!
Reply:pansies, roses, lilly of the valley
Reply:Any caterer will tell you that if you're going to put real flowers on a cake that you should use wax paper as a barrier. Real flowers can be harmful when eaten, not just because of the fact that they're plants and most of them have natural poison, but also because of the pesticides and other chemicals that were more than likely used on them.
Reply:i think all would be safe. even safer to have them made out of icing, gum paste, or fondant.
Reply:ROSES..

U could eat it too.

it taste good.
Reply:I think they all are. I had lillies and roses on my cake.
Reply:You have to check with a florist. They might have pictures of wedding cakes they have done. Because not all flowers are safe is the reason most bakeries won't put them on themselves. They don't want the liability.
Reply:all coman 1 like rose dannylion and volets
Reply:Avoid these flowers

Reply:I was told some lilies are poisonous. Day lilies are ok.

Organic (no pesticides) flowers are safer. The roses from Ecuador are dipped in fungicide to preserve freshness. Not so yummy to eat!
