Does anyone know the name of the stuff you dip fresh flowers in and they keep forever?

You can use silica gel to preserve fresh flowers. It's bit more long winded than dip them in but does a good job. I wouldn't use glycerin for flowers only foliage.

Sugar
Reply:Silica Gel or Borax (from Boots')
Reply:Silica gel, I believe. I think you can buy it at hobby stores %26amp; floral shops.
Reply:Hey

Well things dont exactly keep indefinately forever!

Anyway that aside there are a few things to do.

This is mainly for fresh flowers:

Try putting a few drops of washing up liquid (the stuff you use to wash yr dishes with) into the water in the vase with them.

Go into large garden retailers and ask them if they know what the actual name is-just describe fully what types of flowers they are or what you are wanting this magic stufff to do and they should be able to help. If nt try going to one of those small expensive boutique shops and see what they know!

If you are going to a wedding or such occasion and have bought flowers too early (say a day before) or are going on a long hot car journey put the bunch in the fridge the night before and they should last fr a few hours longer and stops them from drooping.

Also as soon as you take cuttings take the flowers and put em straight into fresh water make sure there are no air bubbles and avoid debris getting into the water. Ie change the water every day and take any leaves and petals out that could have fallen into it.

When buying fresh flowers look for tight buds and make sure the heads arent droopy.

Use sharp sissors or a knife to cut the stems to the desired length BUT do this under a running tap of COLD water and make sure the cuts are on a slant.

Place the flowers in a vase of warm water (room tempertaure) and arrange how you like.

Remove any foliage that will sit under the water line or dip into the water.

Place the vase in a cool spot away from direct sunlight. Cover any wilting heads with newspaper- it helps them to become plump again.

Add a preserve to keep the water free form fungus infestation (ask at garden centres).

If this doesnt work try a few drops of vodka into the water.

But if you actually want to PRESERVE them for ever dry em and press em or theres a brill new way!

Anyone ever ordered fresh flowers online and had shipped to you? What company/were you happy with result?

I have sent and received ProFlowers (from ProFlowers.com) and in both instances I was very happy with the results. Great service and fresh, long-lasting flowers.

When do hydrangers flower?

I want to use fresh hydranger flowers to decorate my wedding cake but don't know if they will be in flower. i am wanting to get married in july time.

When do hydrangers flower?
Depends on the species. "Mophead" Hydrangeas flower on old wood, and usually in June. Many of the new Hydrangeas flower on new growth, and they flower in summer and early fall.

If you are buying from a florist - just call them ask ask if they will have some available on the date you need.
Reply:they should still be in flower by then, I've got some in the garden that are just starting to flower now
Reply:Bad news but hydrangeas are summer flowering but florists might have a few tricks up their sleeves if you have your heart set on them.good luck with the wedding

Reply:For boxed fresh roses directly from the grower or local florist arrangements try this site:

Reply:Seasonal flowers will be least expensive and a local florist will likely have a lower delivery charge. I'd check a local directory.

Happy Anniversary!!!

Whats better silk or fresh flowers?

fresh, you dont have have to dust them just water

Whats better silk or fresh flowers?
both fresh and silk flowers are very nice but there are some ups and downs for both:

fresh flowers: they shed leaves alot and you have to make sure you water them every day

but

they are very very pretty and they make a room look more bright

silk flowers: get very dusty and don't have the beautiful look that real flowers do

but

you don't have to water them and they don't shed leaves or pettles and still have some of the look of real flowers

hope i helped
Reply:If I could have either I would choose fresh.

But -- they are more expensive (here) and do finally wilt, if are cut flowers.

Actually, potted flowers are my favorite.

But I have two felines in house, and they'd eat flowers if given a chance.

Artificial flowers last longer and can be found out of season.

It's like saying, "What's better, live music or recorded?"
Reply:Fresh
Reply:FRESH...much prettier, not tacky and brings a nice floral scent into your home. Silk is much higher maintenance and you would get sick of looking a the same flowers day in, day out. At least with fresh its a new look all the time. Never boring.
Reply:Fresh flowers are nice, they require daily watering, and sun, but also give off oxygen, if they are placed inside, in a vase, they will die within a week, inside, they also attract bugs.

Silk flowers, however make a pleasent picture, but have no scent, and if you place then outside, they will not last as long. Inside, they will not attract bugs.

Inside the house use Silk Flowers. Out side use the real deal: Fresh Flowers.
Reply:There's nothing like the smell of Fresh Flowers.
Reply:Fresh is always best. There are times when one cant rush out to get a bouquet of fresh flowers or dont have a garden of their own. In this case artificial will do. Also, not everyone has a green thumb or live in an area where fresh is available.

Artificial flowers have come a long way in durability and looks. I also like to add a nice potted flower to my rooms. It really is a matter of preference.
Reply:Fresh for sure!

When was renuzit fresh cut home fragrance spray recalled because of picture on can?

The can had a man's penis on the can. I have one of the cans. It's next to the seam on the can and the 'home fragrance spray' words. The fragrance is fresh cut flowers

I believe it was recalled in 1i993 or 1994.
Reply:Coffee soooooooooooooooooo has the best answer!!!! LMAO!!
Reply:Sorry.... It's a false story.

Reply:Don't know when it was recalled, but sure wish I'd seen that one! Are you sure it was recalled because of the penile picture, or because Renuzit was afraid of being sued for false advertising? After all, I have never known a man's penis to smell like flowers, even on its best day! lol.....
Reply:i'm going to go with 93-94 also. geez my EX mother in law showed it to me, and YES there was a VERY clear picture of a falice.
