Fresh Cut Flowers?

Is there anything you can put in the water of fresh cut flowers to make them last longer?

The real secrets are sharp cutting instrument, warm water, and a floral preservative of some sort. In a pinch, half and half regular (not diet) lemon lime soda pop and water works well.
Reply:I always use the package that comes with them. I also cut the ends when I first get them and then put them in the water and 1/3 of the package. Then in 4 or 5 days I cut the ends again and use 1/3 of the package and fresh water. I do this until the flowers die, they will last about 2 weeks doing this. I still have flowers from mothers day.
Reply:If you are talking about flowers you cut from your garden, just put an aspirin in the water. I use it all the time, and it works great. Good Luck.
Reply:I just use the little packet that comes with them. Just keep plenty of fresh water in the container and out of direct sunlight.
Reply:Florists always supply a tiny sachet of a product to prolong flowers, so I would enquire there.
