How do you keep flowers fresh?

It's a boukay of white lillies and white roses from when I was a bridesmaid on Saturday but of course you don't get that flower stufy thing that keeps them fresh.

And how long will they stay fresh for with your idea?

Thanks

How do you keep flowers fresh?
...the IDIOT who suggested "bleach" is trying to KILL your flowers... chlorine kills everything ! ...fresh water, a tea-spoon of sugar... but remember..."they" are cut flowers... "they" won't last long.
Reply:You can put them in a plastic bag in the freezer. Every couple of weeks, take them out and put some new water in the bag. BUT MAKE SURE THAT THE WATER IS ALMOST TOTALLY GONE BEFORE YOU FREEZE IT AGAIN! Now, the freezer is much harder to care for, so you can do the same thing but with the fridge! But also beware of the freezer: it works some times, but once, my flowers became flowersicles. So I would go with the fridge at night, and in the day time, but them at an angle to let more water seep in! It will last years if you use that idea. Believe me, I have some flower girl flowers from when I was 4!
Reply:Make sure you change their water every other day. when you do so, snip a little off the bottom of their stalks at an angle. make sure the water is luke warm, and if you have any, put some flower food in there. they will stay nice for a week or two.
Reply:You can soak the BOUQUET in water and add a few asprin (yes, it works!) or you can stop by a flower shop and ask them for the powder (flower food) to keep them looking fresh. :)
Reply:it sounds gay that I know this... but if you cut the ends of them at a 45 degree angle it gives the ends more surface area and easier for the flowers to suck water up!... also they sell flower food at any nursery!
Reply:Put them in the fridge at night. That will lengthen their life by at least a few days. The bleach in the water is a good idea too.
Reply:I've always dropped an aspirin in the water and sprayed the flowers and greenery with hairspray. My flowers last at least 2 weeks this way.
Reply:Change the water everyday and add nutrient. Be sure the water level stays high.
Reply:you can get flower food for them in your local flower shop, they wont last much longer though :(
Reply:a tablespoon or so of bleach in the water helps for a week or two and keep them away from heat/direct sunlight...the cooler they are the longer they last
Reply:drop a aspirin in the water.
Reply:Water them.
Reply:got o a florist and get soethig to put in the water

corn syrup, jsut a little will help

trim the stems a bit too
Reply:Don't pick them! (bouquet--the whole word is French, not just the first syllable!)
Reply:put them in the refridgerator
Reply:keep them in the fridge..it works...but obviously you won't be able to look at them :p just hang em upside down to dry
Reply:water with a little bleach
Reply:first of all you need roses and you put them i water
Reply:not sure but you could get them dryed flowersforever.co.uk
