What household substance can be used instead of flower food to keep flowers fresh?
I've used aspirin, and also coffee grounds.
Reply:Lemonade
Reply:aspirin or honey
Reply:sound crazy but a little drop of bleach in the water . what it does it kills the bacteria in the water that causes cut flower to die and also helps seal the cut saw this on tv programme when i say a drop i mean a drop though hope this helps
Reply:Bleach.
Reply:lemonade or soluble asprin
Reply:small amount of bleach. try lemonade, both work very well. dont overdo the bleach. what size container are you using? large container half capful bleach, lemonade half %26amp; half water.
Reply:Aspirin
Reply:I think aspirin, but I'm not sure why.
Reply:softdrinks
Reply:7-up or Sprite instead of all of the water. Make sure there are no leaves below the water or they will rot and cause the flowers to wilt too early
Reply:Aspirin, vinegar, bleach or glycerine can all be used for this purpose.
Reply:Lemonade
Reply:I know the answer to this one. Lemonade. The cheap store brand will do. Honest - it's the carbon dioxide in it that keeps them fresh. DB
