Well I have a friend who does this,in micro.
How do I dehydrate fresh flowers? Iris for example. Also any other mom day flower craft ideas?
If you mean pressing a flower, you need to sandwich the flower between wax paper inside a heavy book or in a book with something heavy on it. This expels the water and allows the flower to dry better. This is not an over night item though, it takes about 4 weeks for the flower to be completely dried and preserved.
If you want to maintain the fresh flower look, tie irises together in a bundle and dangle upside down for about 1 month or so, check frequently to make sure there is no molding or mildewing.

Good Luck!
