get them wholesale and go door to door, is this a good idea?
saw it on the apprentice one series and it looked quite good
I wa thinking of starting a service selling fresh flowers door to door?
well you will certainly save on overhead costs like rent, electricity etc - but it is a newish idea and may take a while to get going. i think people may be reluctant to buy in this way at first as it's something different and we are a nation who dislikes change!! but i think once you get a few regular customers and people see how it works then it could be a viable business.
this start-up guide on florists may have some useful info for you http://www.startups.co.uk/Florists.Yed8G...
and my best advice would be to think outside the box with your marketing - traditional advertising won't be effective for this sort of business, forget full page adds in the yellow pages - go for direct selling with a cheery smile and beams of confidence
Reply:it`s up to you
but you will freeze in the winter time
Reply:I used to do this as a young child, and made a few quid doing it as well, I didnt get the flowers wholesale though, nicked em from the local woods:)
Great idea, if I were you I would put leaflets through ppls doors before hand to give them warning, also when people sell door to door the buyers expect cheap prices. The profit on flowers is excellent but then again you have to move them quick or you will be left with a load of dead stock.
Good luck
Reply:I dont know if your idea is the best...you might want to look into something like door to door in Businesses, not homes.
Reply:yes i think this is a good idea...as sometimes i want flowers to buy but can't be bothered to go out and get them....you should try leaving cards through doors so we can contact you when we need flowers...but don't get charging too much as this will put me off and others...good luck and good idea....
Reply:dont bother mate nobody would buy from you and its more trouble than its worth your better doing it buy renting/letting premises.
